L’Oréal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation Review

Happy Tuesday, Beauties! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and first quarter of the year. Seriously though, how is it Easter this weekend coming? Today I’m going to be talking about one of the products I got with a gift card I won from Priceline. It’s the L’Oréal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation. First off I’d like to point out that this only launched in Australia in February, about a year, if not longer, than the States. We also only received 6 of the 12 shades available. Let’s be real, I’m pale AF and I’m the third darkest colour in the shade range we received, 203 Nude Beige. Even though this foundation works for me and I love it, the shade range isn’t good enough. Let’s move onto the review.

I particularly wanted to try this foundation because it’s marketed in the name, GLOW. With my dry, maturing skin, I’m all about the glow. Matte products not only don’t work for my skin type, but they emphasise fine lines and wrinkles, which I hate. This foundation is the complete opposite of matte, obviously.

It’s quite a runny consistency, thinner than a lotion or even a primer, but a little goes a long way. One draw back is, no matter how much I shake it, I get little white dots on my face while I’m blending it. From what I can tell, by reviews I’ve read and watched, this is a common occurrence. It’s easily remedied but swiping them away then blending back over the area, but something to note if this is a foundation you’re interested in getting.

I prefer the finish I get using a beauty sponge over a brush but both work well. The finish is very luminous, it almost looks as though it doesn’t completely dry down. In summer this definitely requires setting, I’ll have to see how it goes in winter, but I’ll keep you updated. The shade I use is a really good match, not quite perfect, but more so than most foundations I’ve tried. In winter it’ll be perfect I think, again I’ll keep you posted.

The cream and powder products I’ve used all blend really nicely on top of this foundation. It isn’t full coverage and requires a lot of building up (or more product than I tend to use for a full face) to get there, but the coverage it has, I enjoy. I’m not about full coverage so I don’t mind the fact I can see my skin peeking through. It contains 30mL for $27.95 AUD, however Priceline and Chemist Warehouse often have sales so it can be found at a lower price if you keep an eye out.

Overall this will be my go to drugstore foundation. I really enjoy it and the drawback of the white dots and extra blending is easy to overlook when you get to the final result.

Have you tried this foundation? What are your favourite dewy drugstore foundations? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time, Beauties xx

  1. I don’t use drugstore foundations. I just haven’t found anything that works for me, and I need that physical SPF which I haven’t found in any drugstore foundations. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

    • I don’t rely on the SPF in any foundation, drugstore or high end. Sure it’s nice as an extra but I apply a sunscreen prior to makeup application. I’m yet to find one that isn’t oily though, I have dry skin so it’s not a big issue, most people have normal to oily so for them it’d be a problem. From the drugstore I’ve o my tried the L’Oréal Pro Glow and the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth, I prefer the L’Oréal but both work well for me. It comes down to your skin type and preferred finish though. For normal/combo/oily skin I’ve heard/read/watched reviews for the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless, NYX Total Control Drops and L’Oréal Infallible Matte with good results. In Aus we don’t have a huge range of brands or even collections within brands to choose from. Could you recommend a non oily SPF product?

      • Honestly, physical or mineral spf’s are not oily. BareMnerals or It Cosmetics have physical spf in them (foundations), but if you want just an spf cream, Josie Maran has a physical one of 47 and ir’s awesome. I wear that when I’m not wearing makeup. You should research drugstore creams with spf – see if they’re physical or chemical. Anything mineral-based is physical. Maybe Physician’s Formula?
